Fall Semester Health Protocols

Current Protocols for Fall 2020

The health and safety of our students and teachers is at the forefront of our policy decisions. We are in regular contact with the Town of New Canaan and will follow theirs and the CDC’s guidelines as we look forward to a safe and healthy semester. Please let us know as we walk this next path if you have any concerns.  Our goal is to have a great experience!

For all Private lessons and Group classes:
Before each class, please take the temperature of your student. If their temperature is above 100.4 or if your student is not feeling well, please keep them home.  Hand sanitizer is available and all public areas will be sanitized between classes.

Group Classes:
Our musical theatre/acting classes will have up to 8 students and up to 10 students for the extended middle school production of Matilda Jr.  Our dance classes will have up to 8 students.

Outside:
The first four-six weeks of music theatre/acting classes will be held outside in Mead Park. (Weather Permitting) Please drop off on the corner of Benedict Hill Rd and Grove Street for outside classes. While outdoors students are not required to wear face coverings, they will be social distanced and have their own bucket of props.  Teachers will wear face coverings.

Inside:
Face coverings are required and students will be distanced in music theatre, acting and dance.
There will be a final performance with a small masked audience requiring masks and socially distanced.

If a student in the class becomes ill with corona virus, the class will become virtual. If a student in the class has a student in their class at school that is tested positive for coronavirus, that student will quarantine for 2 weeks.  We will make every effort to do virtual learning for that one student to keep them up with the class.
Parents should remain outside the Conservatory for drop off and pick up.

Private Students:
We will be using three large spaces at the Conservatory. All spaces will have plexiglass shields for teachers and students and a minimum of 12 feet from the teacher.
