‘Stepping Out’ steps onto high school stage
A British comedy, “Stepping Out,” written by Richard Harris in the 1980s, will be performed by New Canaan High School Theatre.
The show runs Nov. 21 to 23 at 7:30 p.m. on the NCHS stage.
Set in a dingy church basement in North London, the show revolves around a weekly adult tap-dancing class and the interconnections of all the characters involved. The characters include eight uniquely different students,
a temperamental piano accompanist and the patient teacher, Mavis. Despite the varied talents and backgrounds of the class, they manage to come together as a group and as much-improved tap dancers in the end.
The sponsors for the show include Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at newcanaanhighschooltheatre.com or in the high school lobby one hour prior to show times.
