Richard Weidlich
Artistic Tutor: Voice
Richard Weidlich, DMA, is thrilled to be teaching the wonderful, talented young people at the Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan. Richard has appeared in numerous operas, operettas, musicals as well as soloist with various symphonies and choral organizations

Opera and operetta highlights include Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Danilo in The Merry Widow, Schaunard in La Bohème, Nerone in Il Coronazione di Poppea, Pacquillo in La Périchole, Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette, Fleville in Andrea Chénier, and Sonora in La Fanciulla del West, among others.
In addition to his classical performances, Richard has appeared in the following musical theatre roles: Harold Hill in The Music Man, Ravenal in Showboat, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Nicky Arnstein in Funny Girl, Max Dettweiler in The Sound of Music, Dick Wilkins in A Christmas Carol, Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the King in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Matt in The Fantasticks, Antipholus of Syracuse in The Boys from Syracuse, KoKo in The Mikado, and others.
Choral appearances include the Mystic River Chorale, Charis Chamber Voices, and Salisbury Congregational Concert Series. Cabaret appearances include the show Frank, Nat, and Tony at the Magnolia Room, Norwalk, Connecticut, Holiday Time in New York City, Fairfield, Connecticut, Los Angeles, and Portland, Oregon, as well as many appearances in recital and on the Sounds Good Concert Series in Stamford, Connecticut, among others.
Richard also teaches voice at Western Connecticut State University, where he also heads the Opera Ensemble, and the University of Bridgeport, CT. Richard is also Minister of Music at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Stamford, CT
Dr. Weidlich teaches voice for both classical and musical theater students.
