Richard Weidlich
Artistic Tutor: Voice
Dr. Richard Weidlich, baritone, has performed in opera, operetta, and musical theatre, as well as with symphonies and chamber ensembles. Dr. Weidlich is a professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, teaching music classes and individual voice lessons.
Richard has had the pleasure of performing with the Summer Theater of New Canaan featured as Sir Lancelot in this past season’s Camelot, Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man, Max in The Sound of Music and the King in Cinderella.
Other favorite roles include Matt in The Fantasticks, Antipholus of Syracuse in The Boys from Syracuse , KoKo in The Mikado . Opera and operetta roles include Figaro in The Barber of Seville, Schaunard in La Bohème , Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette , and Danilo in The Merry Widow , among others.
Orchestral solo appearances include St. Louis Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Tucson Symphony, and others. Dr. Weidlich is Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Dr. Weidlich teaches voice for both classical and musical theater students.
