Hosted by the Summer Theatre of New Canaan, the Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan is thrilled to be partnering with the Summer Theatre to supervise an expansion of their education program this summer with these live in-person summer camps! The camp will be held in Mead Park just around the corner from the Conservatory, with drop off and pick up on the corner of Richmond Hill and Grove Street parking area. Each student and instructor will have their temperature taken prior to starting class. Should they have a fever, they will not be allowed to take the class. If inclement weather, the camp will be held inside the Conservatory studio at 70 Pine Street using the side stair entrance. Our expansive rehearsal space will allow for appropriate social distancing. Classes will be limited to 8 students with 2 teaching artists to manage safety protocols such as social distancing, use of props, and costumes. Props will be specific to one child so that way there is no sharing and costumes will be brought from home or provided by the Conservatory for use by one student. Students should bring a large beach towel to sit on, a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and bug spray (if wanted). Last day of class, each student can invite a family member or guardian to observe a presentation of their show.
